A Hospital Our Community Deserves

For twelve years, the former Liberal Government promised to build Rouse Hill Hospital but failed to deliver it, leaving our growing community without the health services it needed, including a full Emergency Department and maternity services.

After fighting alongside our community, the Minns Labor Government is getting on with the job of delivering Rouse Hill Hospital.

This new hospital will provide comprehensive, integrated healthcare close to home and support families across one of NSW’s fastest-growing regions.

What the Hospital Will Deliver

  • Emergency Department (ED) and Primary Access Clinic
  • Comprehensive birthing services including birthing rooms and maternity inpatient services
  • In-patient beds and day surgery services
  • Short stay medical assessment services
  • Pathology, pharmacy and medical imaging services
  • Outpatient and ambulatory care services including paediatrics, renal dialysis, antenatal and postnatal services
  • Virtual care and hospital in the home services
  • Prehabilitation, rehabilitation and lifestyle medicine

The project will also incorporate health key worker accommodation and childcare services, supporting the workforce needed to deliver high-quality healthcare for our growing community.

“Sydney’s north west were left out to dry by the former Government but where they failed the Minns Labor Government are getting on with the job.

This approval is another exciting step forward for the project which will provide vital health services to the growing community for decades to come.”

Building the healthcare workforce our hospitals need

Delivering a new hospital is also about ensuring we have the healthcare workers needed to provide quality care for our community.

The Minns Labor Government has removed the unfair wages cap and is recruiting more local health workers needed to run our hospitals.

We’re making progress. In just two years we’ve recruited an additional:

  • 92 nurses
  • 28 doctors
  • 77 allied health professionals
  • 162 paramedics

There’s more work to do, and I’ll keep working with Premier Chris Minns to improve health services across North West Sydney.

Yours sincerely,
